CELEBRATING 55 YEARS OF SERVICE

Honoring Our Past, Serving Today, Nourishing The Future

For 55 years, Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County has delivered more than meals. We have delivered dignity, connection, and the reassurance that someone cares.

Since 1970, our mission has remained constant: to help older adults and individuals with health challenges live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes. What began with eight volunteers delivering 24 meals has grown into a community-powered network serving hundreds of hot meals each day — each one paired with a friendly face and a vital check-in.

Because hunger isn’t the only threat facing older adults.

And because no one should feel forgotten.

A Legacy of Nourishment

Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County has delivered more than just meals for decades — hope.

From the very beginning, our program was never meant to be a door-drop service. Meals are placed directly into clients’ hands, creating moments of connection that reduce isolation and spark meaningful conversation. These daily interactions provide reassurance to families, encouragement to clients, and purpose to volunteers.

Our meals — hot entrees paired with fresh sides like fruit and beverages — are delivered Monday through Friday to homebound adults age 50 or older, as well as younger individuals with qualifying health concerns or disabilities. But nutrition is only part of the impact. The real difference is made in the two-minute conversations, the familiar knock at the door, and the knowledge that someone will notice if something isn’t right.

Because malnutrition and isolation are silent threats to older adults.

Because dignity should not disappear with age.

Voices of the Community

"The people are waiting for us. They're grateful. It gives them a reason to get up, get dressed, and feel seen."

Limited Edition 55th Anniversary T-Shirt

Over the past 55 years, Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County has weathered leadership changes, funding shifts, and the unprecedented challenges of COVID-19. Even as federal funding through the Older Americans Act has seen a 40% decline, our mission has never slowed.

Because you can’t take nutrition—or human connection—off the table.

In honor of our milestone year, we are celebrating with a limited-edition 55th Anniversary T-Shirt featuring artwork by a local artist.

We invite you to join us in showing off your Meals on Wheels pride! Earn our special t-shirt with a donation of $25 or more. Help us ensure that this legacy of nourishment continues for generations to come.

Because food insecurity doesn’t stop at retirement.

Becuase a warm meal, a smile, and a visit can be life-saving.
