As we step into a new year, we want to pause and say something that can’t be said enough: thank you. Not just for your generosity, but for your belief in a simple, powerful idea – that our neighbors deserve dignity, nourishment, and connection at every stage of life.
Because of you, 2025 was a year of real impact at Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County.
The Impact You Made in 2025
This past year, your support helped deliver more than 45,000 meals to nearly 425 older adults and homebound neighbors across Weld County. But those numbers only tell part of the story.
Each meal represented:
- A knock on the door
- A warm greeting
- A moment of reassurance that someone cares
One client, recovering from surgery, shared with us:
“What a tremendous undertaking! Thanks to all involved in the process. I am becoming stronger every day and hope I can become a volunteer in the future.”
That’s the heart of this mission – not just meals today, but hope for tomorrow.
The Growing Need We Can't Ignore
While our meal numbers were slightly lower than in recent years, the need in our community is rising quickly:
- Older adults are the fastest-growing population in Weld County
- Cuts to SNAP and Medicaid are putting food security at risk
- Only 1% of all U.S. philanthropy supports causes benefiting older adults
For many older adults, a delivered meal is the difference between nourishment and hunger, isolation and connection, independence and crisis.
More Than 55 Years of Showing Up
For over 55 years, Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County has been a constant presence – adapting, listening, and responding as our community changes.
We have a proven solution to a growing challenge, and as we look toward 2026 and beyond, we are actively building the capacity to:
- Serve more neighbors
- Reach more rural and isolated households
- Strengthen the safety net for aging adults
But we can’t do this alone.
2026: Resolve to Get Involved
This year, Meals on Wheels America has launched a Resolve to Get Involved campaign – an invitation to turn New Year’s resolutions into actions that truly change lives.
Volunteering with Meals on Wheels is one of the most direct, meaningful ways to make an impact:
- Just one hour can brighten someone’s entire day
- A short route can become a lasting relationship
- A simple act can ripple through a whole community
You can be part of the solution – giving your time, your voice, or your financial support.
Moving Forward - Together
As we enter this next chapter, your continued support will help us reach more homes, more hearts, and more people in need.
Together, we can ensure that aging in Weld County means aging with dignity, nourishment, and connection.
Thank you for being part of this mission. Thank you for believing that no one should be left behind.
